About Me
ABOUT ME – Stunning blues and greens are the easy shot here in the Florida Keys. But beyond the obvious beauty, photography is my outlet for deep, very human self-doubt (who doesn’t have any?) and an inherited abundance of confidence. It connects my spiritual and physical roots beyond time. I get a power boost from believing we all have a purpose here – and mine is telling stories with light.
The camera leads me back to a rich pre-Napoleonic Palestinian heritage and an Italian, German, Russian story that includes leaders and professional scholars: a Jerusalem and Jaffa’n Palestinian family of watchmakers, opticians and photographers, and a polyglot princess grandmother who rode motorbikes through rural Germany. A tangled, beautiful life of multilingual, multicultural engineering – of watches, optics and cameras – has brought me to this present-day bundle of creative, technical skill. That shows up in every image I make, from Florida Keys photography to destination and travel photography around the world.

Inherited travel, photographic skill and wild conceptualisation – it’s a thing. I said so. Every story I tell, whether it’s an intimate Florida Keys wedding, family session, or a faraway travel photography project, is powered by that lineage.
Photography – Chaos & Balance in the Same Story
For me, photography, writing and film connect me to a super-deep conscience. When something disturbs me – the way a street looks after a blast, the twisted silence after a crash, or the raw honesty of a teenager just out of bed – I’m grateful. I love how chaos bothers my sensor and irritates my soul. The tiny struggles, the broken bits, the awkward angles – they all build the big picture. That’s where the most powerful storytelling photography lives.
A camera lets me flex my inherited muscles. I imagine the heritage of wildly intelligent adventurer women, eastern and western stars and cultures, all standing behind me as I shoot. I use them mercilessly to frame a scene. Photography, for me, is like earth and ocean – the essence of existence’s violence and tenderness, opposites attracting and crashing, all fuelled by the hope that drives us: love. That’s the energy behind my Florida Keys portrait photography, wedding photography, and aerial photography from the sky.
Love Is Tiny Streets, Dark Shadows & Neon Lights – From Tokyo to the Florida Keys
“I personally love dark, shadowy nights in Tokyo and rainy London fog on Tower Bridge under dreary street lights. I’m addicted to misty, dark green mountain forests in Hokkaido. I feel both lost and found in forests in Austria and on Mount Meakan, or running a lonely trail with no end in sight along an endless fluttering Surrey bridle-path.” That same obsession with atmosphere now fuels my Florida Keys travel photography and moody coastal work closer to home.
Travel – Japan Travel Photographer
JAPAN, HOKKAIDO, TOKACHI, HONBETSU – a powerful farming travel documentary for Shigeo Maeda, by me. No money changed hands. I stayed and ate with his family for four days, followed their rhythms, listened, watched. This is the work I crave: telling stories of how one person and their family quietly change the world. The same heart goes into my travel photography anywhere – from remote farms to sandy beaches in the Florida Keys.

Jones began her journey in England, traveling alone around the world with a camera in hand. Now her physical world in the Florida Keys is smaller – but her inner world is massively, hugely, ginormously bigger. The light, water and people here keep expanding it every day.
Going on a 3-day trip? Absolutely. I live to reflect travel through writing and photography – whether it’s island-hopping in the Florida Keys, exploring Tokyo, or chasing fog and forests.
Photography has accompanied her around the world, capturing and writing for decades. Jones and her Naval Aviator husband have seen wars and stark, crushing poverty. That perspective shapes the way she sees your joy, your tenderness, your small, ordinary miracles – and it’s why her wedding photography and documentary work cut straight to the heart.
